Sabah Day 1 (June 5, 2009)

KUCHING - KOTA KINABALU
Mode of transportation: Airasia
Time: 14:40 - 16:05
Sabah, located on the northern part of Borneo island is Malaysia 2nd largest state
Sabah is widely known as the land below the wind due to the fact she is located just below d typhoon prone region of the Philippines. Blessed with vast natural sights, Sabah is home to one of the highest peak in South East Asia Mount Kinabalu (a World Heritage Site) as well as one of the world's best diving spot Sipadan.

The main objective this trip was to attend a friend's wedding. Thus not much arrangements were made to enjoy the Eco-tourism sites of Sabah. The pictures taken below were from our 2006 Sabah trip....

Jesselton Point (year 2006)

The closest islands to Kota Kinabalu (KK) town is the trio island.. Manukan, Mamutik and Sapi Island. Just proceed to Jesselton Point and hop on a boat ride to reach these islands. The breath taking sight is worth a visit. Coral reefs are everywhere. Credits to the Sabah for taking such good care of Mother Nature.

Sapi Island (year 2006)

Sapi Island has the best sight among the 3 islands..personal recommendation.

Manukan Island (year 2006)

Mamutik Island (year 2006)

First impression was OK as the rooms are honestly pretty clean. And we got a good rate from the internet..total 3 day stay only cost us MYR 120++ /room.

With the cheap rate, a compact room was expected. Cleanliness was up to standard.

The KK Tune Hotel was OK with plus point on the cleanliness until bedtime.
Goodness~ were we in for a surprise!
Just below the hotel, there's a lounge/pub which had nothing unique till the wee hours. We basically had sleepless nights. The hotel rooms sound insulation was literally ZERO~
